The DMZ loop in 3 steps
Full beginner guide →Drop in, stay quiet
You load into a live map with other squads. Your first goal is never to fight — it is to find gear, finish objectives and leave alive.
Loot & complete missions
Search caches, buy stations and POIs to gather gear and progress your faction missions. Mission progress is what unlocks better loadouts.
Extract to keep it
Reach an exfil point and call a helicopter before the timer ends. Anything you extract is saved to your inventory for the next raid.

Frequently asked
All FAQ →What is MW4 DMZ?
DMZ is a extraction-mode experience inside the Call of Duty universe. You enter a large map, complete missions and loot gear, then extract before the match timer ends. Die without extracting and you lose what you brought in.
Is MW4 DMZ free to play?
The base DMZ mode has historically been accessible to players who own the corresponding Call of Duty title. This guide covers the mode itself, not licensing or store requirements.
Where are the extraction points?
Exfil points are marked on our interactive map and listed on each location page. They are typically at the edges of the map and activate on a timer.
